A Profound Process

I <3 Penny Arcade.

Today has been fairly unproductive, but very fun and semi-productive as well. Funny how that works, isn't it?

I did skip morning class. But I didn't miss much. Just listening to a couple symphonies which I can do on my own. I missed analysis, but I don't need it. Afternoon class and choir were both very uneventful.

I then played some hella Metroid: Zero Mission. And I beat it. 3 hours, 40 minutes. All I can say is fucking amazing. It's so much like the original, yet oh so different. I loved it. They simply can't go wrong with Samus. And she's also hot.

Then I picked out music for KRNL and went over to Lauren's to finally watch the second act of my Silverchair concert DVD. And we're still not done. But it's so so good.

My show was okay tonight. At least I remembered to do it. I was pretty bored throughout, though. How many of you actually listen? You all should.

Since then I've been messing about on iTunes. My computer's been running out of hard drive space since in order to share new albums that I rip onto my computer/iPod, I have to keep them on the computer. This is mostly due to the trick I needed to pull on iTunes in order to share the songs from my iPod. Keeping the songs on my computer and sharing those files was a lot easier than putting them on the iPod, deleting the files on my computer, searching through the iPod, and then creating more aliases. Unfortunately, leaving all these MP3s on my computer takes up space. Well, up until tonight it took up 2 GB. But now I've cleaned it out (but not before a painstaking search of two misplaced song files that my Library thought I had but I didn't any longer), and can recreate aliases for all the songs on my iPod. It means I have to redo my shared playlists, but that's not a big deal. It'll be worth it if my computer runs faster with the extra 2GB free.

Were any of you able to follow that? I thought not. :-P

So what have we learned from tonight? Yes, that's right. I'm a huge geek.

I saw this on [info]chosen5x5's journal and figured it'd be cool to do in honor of all the iTunes goodness I've been having lately. It's also really cool and better than the other surveys floating around. So without further ado...

Step 1: Open your iTunes or other lesser MP3 player.
Step 2: Put all of your music on random.
Step 3: Write down the first ten songs it plays, no matter how embarrassing.

1) "The Plan" - Nada Surf
2) "Bring Me to Life" - Evanescence
3) "The Kiss (skit)" - Eminem
4) "Cold Blooded Old Times" - Smog
5) "Story of My Life" - Social Distortion
6) "King for a Day" - Green Day
7) "Only a Northern Song" - The Beatles
8) "Calm Like a Bomb" - Rage Against the Machine
9) "I'm Only Sleeping" - The Vines
10) "My Old Man Had a Pistol" - The New Amsterdams

Wow. Not a single Smashing Pumpkins or Radiohead. And I have a lot of their stuff. I guess that's why they call it "shuffle" though. :-)

I wonder if I should sleep at some point?

Addendum: Steve! Check out what time it is! ;-)
